PSALM 3 : 3

In all things you yourself must be an example of good behaviour. Be sincere and serious in your teaching.
Titus 2 : 7

Our Ministers
Father God we thank You for the men and women You have chosen to lead Your church in this place. You called them and appointed them to tell and teach others about Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. You have taught them how You desire them to live and teach Your people, and are continually inspiring them by Your Holy Spirit to live as You desire and to love people like You do. Thank You for their diligence and faithfulness, and for their love of the people You have put in their care. Bless each one who serves You as speaker and preacher of Your Word. May they bring many to worship before You. Thank You, Lord!

Thank You Lord for this place where we gather together to worship You. You have established us to have fellowship and to learn about You and Your love for all people. Thank You for all who join us in worship and song not only on Sunday’s but at other meetings too. We praise You lord, and pray that everyone who enters these doors may feel the love that You have placed in our hearts, as we share of the experiences we have and welcome others into this place. May we be able witnesses to Your love for all people, Lord!

Church Leaders
Thank You for the men and women who are willing to step up to serve You where You require them to. You have appointed them and given them the ability to do the task, and to be a witness to Your love for all people. Bless those who readily step forward when help is requested for some task. Thank You for each one who shares in worship bringing their talents with music to help make a joyful noise in worship of God Almighty. Bless all those who stand in leadership Lord, and give us witness to Your great love and kindness.

South Africa
God, bless our land and people, we pray. May there be witness to Your loving kindness and help in those areas where decisions are made. Guide and help our leaders to be honest and righteous in all that they do. We pray against murder, violence and crime, Lord, for it affects all our lives. Lord, protect and help those who serve to combat crime, and desire to help in serving wherever they can. Watch over our land and guide us Lord, in right living. God, bless South Africa and all who live here. We pray this in Jesus’ Name!

The Needy
We thank You for Your loving care of all people, Lord, and ask You to help and heal all those who are facing illness or other difficulty. May Your loving presence bring comfort to those who face issues that cause pain. Bless all people, we pray!

Monday  6 th November                Psalm 95 : 1 - 7
Praise the Lord!  Let us begin our time with the Lord with praise and thanksgiving. Praise God from whom all blessings flow! Praise Jesus, our Lord and Saviour, who gave up His place in heaven to come to us, to teach us how to come back and worship and honour God Almighty as we should. Praise our Holy Spirit who teaches and inspires us in our lives as God’s children. We are in the presence of our Mighty God and bow humbly before Him to honour Him and glorify His Name. God is kind, caring and generous to all and we fall to our knees to honour and praise Him. We are blessed to be called children of the Most High God, who created all things and who rules us with loving kindness. Praise the Lord, my soul! Worship Him in Spirit and in Truth! He is the Lord of all! Hallelieuia!

Tuesday 7 th November           John 12 : 35 - 36
Believe in the Light!   The world is full of darkness and evil is all around us. But we, who believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God Almighty have His light with us always. His light banishes the darkness of the world and brings hope and joy into men’s lives. The world follows a different path to the one that Jesus’ followers walk. The world worships money and power and possessions, and is selfish in their attitude towards others. Christians walk to a different beat. They love and worship God above all else, and seek to live honourable lives that obey God’s will. They seek to do good deeds and have no thought of selfishness or evil. They follow Jesus in thought, word and deed, and desire to know Him as their personal Saviour. Jesus came to save our souls, so as to be with Him eternally. Believe that He is light and shines in the darkness, drawing many to follow the path He walks. Believe in the Light of the World!

Wednesday 8 th November             Psalm 139 : 1 - 18
God knows us!   Our relationship with God, our Lord and Saviour is real. We have entrusted our lives to Him and He has promised to be with us always. As we read Psalm 139 we realize that no matter where we are, what we are doing, or what we are feeling, God knows. He knew us before we were born. He watched over us as we grew up and came to adulthood. He sees how our relationship is with others, as well as our focus on our relationship with Jesus His Son. Day by day God watches over us with pride as we have a kind word for a person in need. He rejoices as we tell another about the love of Jesus for them and His willingness to help in their time of need. As we meet our Lord in worship and prayer we grow in faith and trust in Him. God is totally faithful and trustworthy and He knows us so well. God takes care of His own. Rejoice in His abiding love and care of us.

Thursday 9 th November             1 John 1 : 8 - 9
Are we deceivers?   There is no one without sin in their lives, save one, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Often we are unaware that our behaviour is contrary to God’s expectation, yet God stirs in our heart and mind and makes us aware that we are living sinful lives. We may not be killers, or thieves, but many of our actions break the rules that God has put in place. He convicts us of our sin and as we confess them to Him He keeps His promise and forgives us and sets us free from all wrongdoing. If we turn our backs on our previous action and take God’s words to heart we will live from henceforth a life dedicated to serving our Lord to the best of our ability. As a faithful, honest and diligent worker for the Lord we will find it easy to live as He desires us to. Live unto the Lord and not unto the world. Be a lover of the Word and truth of God!

Friday 10 th November                  John 7 : 16 - 19
God – our Teacher!  On our own we cannot learn as much as when a knowledgeable person teaches us. Jesus said, ‘what I teach is not My own teaching, but comes from God who sent Me!’ This is true for ourselves too. As we allow God to teach and instruct us we grow in wisdom and knowledge and are able to teach others. God Himself teaches us! He reveals truth from His Word, the Bible, and gives enlightenment to our seeking hearts. If we seek God to instruct us He is willing to do so. If we have a specific problem take it to the Lord and ask for His wisdom. God knows all and will show us what is needed to resolve that issue. If we seek God’s will and follow it in our lives we will grow in knowledge and will be able to help others when they seek answers for their questions and issues. God is our Teacher and Instructor. Trust in His wisdom and knowledge and understanding of our problems!

Saturday 11 the November            Ecclesiastes 3 : 1 - 15
Life is a gift!   Life is God’s gift to us and we should enjoy it to the best of our ability. The sun comes up every morning announcing a new day that we can enjoy. We may have work to do but let us work with joy for God has given us that work and the ability to perform it. We interact with many people throughout the day, our work mates, our family members, our friends and people on life’s journey. Those are no happen-chances! God has planned it all – every moment of our lives and every interaction we have with others. What do we learn from these meetings? Do we learn tolerance and empathy? Do we encounter loving kindness, or have to calm down an angry friend? Do all you can in life to live in harmony with everyone, showing loving care, just like or Lord, Jesus Christ. Enjoy the gift of life that God has given. Give Him thanks for each new day!

Sunday 12 th November
There is none like You, blessed Lord. We come humbly before You to worship and praise Your Holy name. You mean so much to us Lord, that not one day can go past without us seeking Your presence. You are greatly loved, O Lord, and we give You thanks for Your loving care. You guide us day by day to live as You require, and as we obey Your will and way for our lives we find that we are drawing closer to know You in a deeper, more intimate way. You reveal Yourself to us Lord, to teach us what You desire for our lives. We gather to worship and praise Your Holy name, and rejoice in Your loving presence. May we be open to Your leading and teaching, Lord, and take Your lessons deep into our hearts, so that we can live as You require. We love You, Lord! Blessed is Your Name, above all other names, You are holy, indeed, and we lift our hearts to You in praise. Hallelieuia to our Lord and our God, now and forever more!

The Prayer of Rest

Through the prayer of rest God places His children in the eye of the storm. When all around us is chaos and confusion, deep within we know stability and serenity. In the midst of intense personal struggle we are still and relaxed. While a thousand frustrations seek to distract us, we remain focused and attentive. This is the fruit of the Prayer of Rest.
There is perhaps no more appealing invitation in all the Bible than Jesus’ gracious words, “Come unto me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” (Matt 1`1:28) Nothing is more needed today than this rest of body, mind and spirit. We live so much of our lives in “an intolerable scramble of panting feverishness”, as Thomas Kelly calls it. All of the grasping and grabbing, all of the controlling, all of the manipulative dynamics of life exhaust us.
