PSALM 147 : 1
Listen! This is the hour to receive God’s favour; today is the day to be saved!
2 Corinthians 6 : 2

Our Ministers
Father God, thank You for the one You have placed to take care of Your church here. Thank You for his faithfulness to You and his willingness to seek Your teaching for the Word to bring to Your people. Thank You for all that he does to ensure that it goes well with the church and Your people. Bless him as he seeks Your presence and Your will for his life as well as for the people in this place. Guide and instruct him through Your Spirit’s leading and teaching, we pray. May he be blessed by You and his family too. Thank You, Lord!

You have built Your church in this place, Lord, and have encouraged men and women to join the fellowship here. You have built a loving congregation, Lord, one that delights in worship and praise, and to spend time in prayer and teaching. Thank You for every person who comes and stays to be a member of this community. We thank You, for Your loving touch upon all people and Your encouragement as we seek Your will for our own lives but also for this church.

Church Leaders
You have called men and women to take leadership roles in this church, Lord, and we thank You for each one. They delight in serving where You have called them to, and many are growing in their knowledge of You through their teaching and help in study. Bless each one who works so diligently to extend Your Kingdom through the work that they do in Your Name. Bless each one, Lord, and guide them by Your Spirit and enable them to fulfil Your purpose for their lives. Thank you, Lord for each one who leads in any way in the church!

South Africa
We bring our land and people to You Lord God, asking for Your leadership for every life. May we seek You and apply what You teach us in order to help others grow to know You too. May Your hand of blessing be upon the leaders of our land, and may they heed Your call and be willing to obey You in whatever task they take on. Bless our President and guide him each day, as he serves You in that position. Bless too the police who often have to deal with tragic circumstances. We pray against mob justice Lord, where people are burning and looting and harming others. May there be an end to all this violence and harm. God, bless South Africa we pray, and guide all our politicians too!

The Needy
Lord, we pray for our loved ones now. There are many who are facing serious illness and hospitalisation or operations. Watch over them and care for them, Lord, and comfort them with Your loving presence. Bless and help all those in need this day, we pray!

Monday 9 th April 1 Corinthians 13 : 1- 13
Love! God is love and through His loving kindness we learn life’s greatest lesson – “Love one another!” Once we have been touched by the love of God we are changed forever. Day by day, through our loving interaction with God—Father, Son and Holy Spirit, our character and emotions change. We find that we care about others and our selfish, self-centred way slowly disappears and we become more selfless and caring. We don’t just love our families, but kindness and caring reaches out to many people who cross our path. We find that patience becomes a major trait in our character and also anger slowly but surely disappears. Love now shapes our lives and we become more like our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, who loved us so much that He was willing to give up His life for us. Our God of love draws us close to experience His love in every moment of our living. Praise God for His loving kindness.

Tuesday 10 th April 1 John 4 : 7 - 21
Love one another! In the Bible we read of God’s love of His Creation. We are born in love, we grow in love, and we are sustained in love. Love is the greatest emotion that we can experience. Love builds us up in every way. Love forms our character. Love guides our footsteps. Love enriches our relationships. Love guides us in our decisions. God saw that mankind could not manage to know the depth of His love on their own, so He gave the world the perfect example of love. Jesus came and lived among men in a small corner of the world. He lived, loved and shared the love of God with many, urging them to go to all nations and do the same. His command of ‘love one another, as I have loved you’ should guide us each day of our lives. Our living is richer for the love we get and the love we give. Let love for one another be our guiding light. God is love!

Wednesday 11 th April John 17 : 24
A gift of souls! Jesus earnest prayer before God was for the people God had given into His care. God has chosen the people who would be faithful to Jesus and learn from Him, and now Jesus pleads for these souls to be with Him just where He is, so that they can see the glory that surrounds Him! Before, on the Mount of Transfiguration, three of Jesus’ disciples had seen Jesus bathed in the Glory of God. Now Jesus wants all those who are His disciples to see the Glory too. The love of the Lord is a promise to all who have become followers of the Son of God. Jesus will continue to call men and women to Himself so that they may know the depth and height and glory of His love for them. Each soul of man is a gift to Jesus. Heaven will be filled with God’s glory.

Thursday 12 th April Philippians 3 : 8 – 9
What are you prepared to give up? Paul was ready to relinquish everything for the sake of Jesus Christ. He counted it an honour to gain unity with our Lord, and be completely His. What are we prepared to give up for Jesus? Are we ready to relinquish that habit that takes us into worldly ways? Are we ready to give up that relationship with someone outside of our marriage – one that is drawing us away from faithfulness to our partner? Are we ready to change our habit of sleeping in till the very last minute – to getting up an hour earlier than usual to spend time in Christ’s presence? Are we ready to give up sport on Sunday and attend church instead? There are many issues that take us away from the Lord’s side. We need to examine our lives and decide what we will give up, so that we can spend more time learning about our Lord and growing in His likeness each day. Do it all for the sake of your relationship with Jesus, our Lord!

Friday 13 th April Ezra 7 : 10
Devotion! Ezra gives us a fine example of devotion and faithfulness to the Lord. He had thorough knowledge of the law that God had given to Moses and devoted his life to studying it, practising it and teaching all its laws and regulations to the people of Israel. Can we say that we are as devoted as Ezra was? Do we study the Bible to find out all we can about God and His Son, Jesus? Do we follow the ways that Jesus taught to His disciples? Have we learnt enough to be able to teach others want Jesus expects of us? Are we living faithful, dedicated lives, studying the will and way of God, as Jesus did? Do we rise early in the morning to spend time in the presence of the Lord, to worship and honour Him and to bring our prayers and petitions to Him and listen to what He has to say? Be a faithful follower of Jesus Christ our Lord as He asked us to be!

Saturday 14 th April Psalm 121 : 1 - 8
God helps us! This Psalm tells us of God’s great love for us. He will help us in all circumstances, for He is always awake, watching over us to ensure we do not falter or fall. He always watches to ensure that we do not get hurt. He guards us against intruders and those who would harm us. He protects us day or night, no matter where we are, or what we are about. We are called His beloved and His loving care always surrounds us. He ensures we will not walk in the wrong path or hurt ourselves. No matter where we are, who we are with, what we are doing, God’s hand is ever before us protecting and caring for us. Give thanks to the Lord our God, who cares for us with everlasting love. Praise His Name!

Sunday 15 th April
Father God, we bring all thanks and praise to You. You watch over us and care for us every minute of every day. Thank You for doing so and protecting us from harm. We are Your own, Lord God, and come to You to praise and worship You and to call upon Your Name. Be with us Lord, as we seek Your will and way for our lives. We have committed our lives to follow Your Son, Jesus, as our Lord and Saviour, and we pray that we may grow in His likeness as we seek to live as Your own. Thank You for loving us and caring for us each day. We wake in the morning in Your care, and go about our daily living knowing that You are watching over us and caring for us. This is such a blessing Lord God, that we have not enough thanks to give You to tell You just how grateful we are for Your love. We praise You! We bless You! We are Your own, Lord God, called to be brothers and sisters to Your Son, Jesus. We follow Him, Lord God, and delight to know that He has called us to follow Him. Blessed is His Name, Lord most High. We worship and honour You, now and always. Hallelieuia!

Unceasing Prayer
I want to tell you of a wonderful way of living always in God’s presence. I cannot witness that I have entered fully into this life of perpetual communion with the Father, but I have caught enough glimpses that I know it to be the best, the finest, the fullest way of living.

Ordinary people throughout the ages tell us it is possible. Brother Lawrence shares simply, “There is no mode of life in the world more pleasing and more full of delight than continual conversation with God.” Let the memory of Jesus combine with your breath. Prayer unites the soul to God. Unceasing prayer consists of an unceasing invocation of the name of God.
