PSALM 27 : 13 - 14

I am sure that God, who began this good work in you, will carry it on until it is finished on the Day of Christ Jesus.
Philippians 1 : 6

Our Ministers
Thank You, Lord, for the one You have placed here to lead us and instruct us in living the way Christ desires. You have loved him and taught him how to care for Your people, and we thank you for his tireless work in Your Name. May he know the support and love of all the people gathered here, to encourage him and support him in the work he does in Your Name. May Your Holy Spirit bless him and inspire him as he prepares the message to bring to Your people. Open his heart to Your leading, Lord that he may hear Your Word. Bless him, Lord, and his family, and the people of this church, as they gather in Your name.

You have given us a building where we can gather together in Your Name, O Lord. We thank You that every week people come here, to join in worship and praise of You, and to listen to the message that had been prepared. We pray for every activity that takes place here – Children’s church, Bible Study, women’s and men’s groups, plus mission work. All is done in Your Name, O Lord, and we bring You honour in all that is undertaken. Bless this place and all who serve You here, Lord, we pray!

Church Leaders
There are many who long to serve You, Lord, and have stepped forward and offered their service in various places. Thank You for each leader, Lord, who gives so selflessly of time and talent to bring the Good News to others. Thank You for every teacher, everyone who leads a mission here, and those who run home groups, or teaching others how to grow in their faith walk. Bless those who run the prayer meetings and also help with teaching and instructing new Christians how to begin and continue to serve Christ in their lives.

South Africa
We pray for our land and people, dear Lord. May your Word go forth and find fertile soil where it may be planted. We pray for hearts to be open to receive the good news, and that the folk who hear commit to You and follow You each day. We pray for protection for the farmers across our land, that they may come to no harm. We pray too for the leaders in Government, National as well as Local, that they may serve the people of our land with faithfulness, seeking to provide the best for everyone. May crime, violence and corruption come to an end Lord that we may live in peace and harmony under Your loving care, God, bless South Africa, we pray!

The Needy
There are many who are in need of Your help and healing power, dear Lord. We name those we know before You now, praying for Your restoration for each one to wholeness and full health. Thank You for Your loving care.

Monday 30 th April Ephesians 4 : 1 - 6
God’s Standards! Because God is who He is, He has set the standards for the world and every creature and person He has created. He wants us to live in such a way that we meet the standards He has set for our lives. He has given each of us physical, emotional, and spiritual attributes and wants us, each one, to reach our full potential. There are a few of these qualities in this chapter, “Be always humble, gentle and patient. Show you love by being tolerant of one another. Be peaceful, caring and kind in every way.” What a glorious world we would have if everyone lived like this. There would be an end to fighting and wars. The character of power hungry people would change. May we grow each day more in love with our Lord and our God and be willing to change and become like Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. Thank God for His loving care for us all!

Tuesday 1 st May Isaiah 32 : 15 - 20
God will restore! Although we are in the midst of a drought in our land we must not despair. God is in control of all things, especially the weather. He will send rain to soak the parched earth. He will restore the farms and the crops once more, so that we will gather the harvest. He will send His Spirit upon and land and His people need worry no more. His Spirit will take away the worries of the day, come alongside to bless us and guide us in His way. God requires righteousness and justice, and for peace to reign among His people. God calls us to repent from our wicked ways and turn to Him once more. Serve our God with faithfulness and love. He will bless us again and we will go forward in peace and safety. God is faithful in every way and is always present to the one who calls upon His Name. Blessed is the Lord God Almighty!

Wednesday 2 nd May Psalm 71 : 1 - 8
The Lord is my hope and protection! From the moment I gave my heart to the Lord, He has taken care of me. He took me at my word and led me on a journey of life. There have been good days and some not so good ones, but the Lord has never left my side. He has encouraged me to study and learn from His Holy Book, and to take part in the lessons He brings. I have relied on the Lord my God through thick and thin and have never been without His comforting presence and leading. He has chastised me when I have strayed from His side, encouraging me to return to His ways. He has cared for me through sickness and disease and He rejoiced when I returned to full health. The Lord is my Guide. He is at my side, guiding and helping me each day to become what He has planned for me. He is High and Holy, Lord Almighty, but also closer than a brother. All glory, praise and honour to God Almighty, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit – my hope and my salvation!

Thursday 3 rd May Galatians 3 : 20
“Come to Me!” God tells us that we don’t need a go-between. “Come to Me”, He calls. As we quiet our hearts and minds to hear His loving voice He surrounds us with His presence. We are all intimately loved by God, our Abba, Father, and can know that He will do anything at all to keep us safe and in His loving care. There is no stronger love than His love for us. As we come, in our time of distress, he brings calm to us, so that the stress gradually departs and we can begin to cope with life again. Our trust in Him will never be betrayed. He remains with us even though we might not be aware of Him, but the peace that He gives stays with us and enables us to carry on. Thank You, Father God, blessed Jesus and Holy Spirit, for Your calming presence and everlasting love!

Friday 4 th May 2 Corinthians 10 : 3 - 5
Strongholds! Paul was very aware of the motives that people were using, but he say that we, as Christians, do not use worldly motives as our weapons. We belong to Christ! We take every stronghold, every motive and every thought captive and make it obey Christ. His will for our lives is paramount. Many in the world ridicule and criticize Christians, but we must stand firm and refuse to let the comments or criticism change our faith and trust in the Lord. As we grow in our knowledge of God and His Son, Jesus, we grow both in resistance to the world and in acceptance of the bonds that Jesus has placed round our hearts. There is no other way but by Jesus – the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Once we have given our hearts to Him we belong to Him forever. The world is not our home, we belong in heaven. Blessed is the Lord our God, and Jesus, our Saviour!

Saturday 5 th May Romans 6 : 20 - 23
What have you gained? Before we met Christ, our lives we lived without righteousness. We did things that now, in the light of Jesus, we are ashamed of. We were on a slippery slope to death without salvation. But now, through the grace and love of God through Jesus Christ, we have been set free from all unrighteousness. We have been washed in the blood of Jesus, our Lord, and though our sins were red as scarlet, they are now washed as white as snow. We have gained so much, a rich life in a wonderful relationship here on earth and the promise of Eternal Life with Christ in heaven. We give thanks to God Almighty for His constant love and care, never giving up calling us to His side. His grace is all we need. Praise God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit, for a life gained for all Eternity!

Sunday 6 th May
Lord God Almighty, we come before You now to worship You and to bring You praise and thanksgiving. You have blessed us so much and we thank You for all Your loving care. You keep control of all the earth and people that exist, yet despite the numbers that there are You know us each by name. Thank You for calling us Your children. As our loving Father we look to You for everything of value – for life, for love and for family. You provide everything we need to live. You feed us through the crops produced, and feed our souls with Your Word. May we listen to You and grow to know You in deeper and deeper loving ways. You are our Lord and our God, and there is no other we would worship and follow. Guide us day by day Lord, till we reach the day of meeting. We belong to You, blessed Jesus, Son of the Lord of all. We worship, praise and honour You. Blessed is the Name of our Lord and our God. Hallelieuia!

Unbroken Communion

The writer to the Hebrews urges us to “Continually offer a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that confess His name” (Heb13:15). Jesus gave us His parables on prayer to show us our “need to pray always and not to lose heart” (Like 18:1). He modelled for us the reality of perpetual communion with the Father. “The Son can do nothing on His own, but only does what He sees the Father doing; for whatever thee Father does, the Son does likewise” (John 5:19): “I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge” (John 5:30): I am in the Father and the Father is in Me (John 14:11). When Jesus told His disciples to abide in Him like a branch abides in the vine, they instantly understood what He meant, for they had watched for years His abiding in the Father (John 15:1-11)
