My prayer is that our fellowship with you as believers will bring about a deeper understanding of every blessing which we have in our life in union with Christ.

Philemon v 8

Our Ministers

Thank You, Lord God, for the message that is brought by the one You have placed in charge of Your church. Thank you too for the many hours spend in reading and studying so that he can prepare a worthwhile message to bring to Your people. He is faithful and efficient, Lord, and we are blessed by his dedication to You, for through his study he gains knowledge that he imparts to us all. May Your Spirit bless and guard him and his family as they serve You day by day. Thank you for one who seeks Your will for every part of his life.

Lord, we gather together as Your own, thankful for this place that You have established. We delight to join with others who come here to worship You and to hear Your message to us. You have called us to come together to study Your Word, and to do what You require by witnessing to Your great love to all those who enter here. May we serve You with our hearts open and ready to hear Your Word, and a willingness to go out and help others to grow to know You more deeply through our involvement in study and teaching.

Church Leaders

Thank You for every person who is willing to step forward and take on some responsibility in this church. You have equipped them and guided them to the place where You require them to lead and help others grow in their faith. Lord, there is much to be done and we are thankful for everyone who has listened to Your call and have stepped up to serve to the best of their ability. Bless all our leaders, Lord, we pray!

South Africa

Thank You for our land and people, Lord God. You have called us to serve You here and we thank You that there are many across our land who have heeded Your call and are doing their best in the positions they hold. We pray for the men and women in leadership positions in political parties across South Africa that they may serve to the best of their ability, always seeking ways to better conditions for the people of our land. Lord, we thank You for the rain that has fallen that has improved conditions where there was drought. You have been gracious and caring to us all, and we give You praise and thanks!

The Needy

Lord, bless, help and heal all who are in need this day. Many are facing serious illness, and long for Your loving touch upon their lives. May You, in Your Grace, bring healing to those we name before You now. They belong to You, O Lord, bless and heal each one, we pray! Thank You!

 Monday 18 th June               Psalm 94 : 1 - 23

God is our Judge!   Our God is all-seeing. No matter what is done, by us, or to us, our God knows it all. Though wrong-doing happens to us God will not allow it to go unpunished. He sees the law-breakers, and His punishment will come upon them. We see what is happening in our country and we cry out to God on behalf of all those who have suffered at the hands of the evil law-breakers. We cry out to God, “When will it all end, Lord? When will our country be safe once more? Come, Lord and punish these evil people who go against God fearing people. Lord God, in Your mercy hear our prayer and our cry for our people and our land. We rely on You Lord God, You are everything to us.” Praise God, from whom all blessings flow. God is to be revered and honoured. Praise His Holy Name!

Tuesday 19 th June               Isaiah 35 : 1 - 10

The Road of Holiness!   There is a road that leads to the New Jerusalem, the Holy City that waits for all that God predicts to have taken place. It is a road that all people need to walk to receive the great reward. But there are many who turn away from this road and instead walk to another drum-beat. The Road of Holiness is for all those who follow the will of God Almighty. The faithful walk upon it. The godless do not. We are all shown the Road but many choose not to walk on it. Those who follow the Lord’s instructions will find Him waiting at the end of this Road. Stay faithful and true to the Lord. Follow His commandments and live lives that honour God Almighty. The Road of Holiness is the road we must travel to reach the place where Jesus is. Walk with joy. Walk with faithfulness. Walk with the Lord at Your side. It is the Road that leads to Heaven!

Wednesday 20 th June          Galatians 4 : 1 - 7

Children of God!   We who love the Lord Jesus Christ are privileged to call God, “Our Father.” God sends the Spirit of His Son, the Holy Spirit, into our hearts so that we might know Him as our loving Father, our Daddy, our Abba, and our Lord! It is such a close relationship and we know that God, our Father, loves us fully and completely. In that love we know that we are cherished as sons and daughters of the Most High God and called beloved by our loving Father. In our relationship with God we are secure and we look to Him for help and guidance, just as we do with our earthly parents. God pours out blessing upon blessing into our lives. This love fills our hearts and gives us the confidence to live lives that please Him. Our relationship with God—Father, Son and Spirit guides us every day of our lives. We return His love through our faithfulness and trust in Him. Blessed is the name of our Lord and our God!

Thursday 21 st June             Psalm 46 : 1 - 11

God is with us!   No matter where we are; what we are doing or what we are facing, God is with us. He is our strength and our shield, a very present help in times of trouble. He knows our deepest feelings, our insecurities, and our fear of failure and comes to reassure us of His presence. God tells us,     ‘Lo! I am with you always. Why be afraid when the God of all Creation is by your side to protect and guide you?” Yet we face our fears alone and we make decisions that affect our future. Why don’t we turn to our ever present God and ask for His help and guidance. We trusted Him in the past, why don’t we trust Him still? He can be trusted! Turn from your worries and concerns and lay them before the Lord of all. Leave them there for God to deal with. Then you can face the day with joy and confidence knowing that God will guide your footsteps and bless your day. Give thanks to God!

Friday 22 nd June             1 Peter 2 : 5

Be used by God! God calls us to be living stones, to be used in building up the spiritual Temple! There we will be used by God as servants of the Most High. Let God guide you in your living, your prayer life, and your service in His Name. Live lives that give God honour in all that you think, say or do. Be an example of Godly men and women who faithfully serve as God requires. We are called to be like Jesus, our Lord, who was faithful in every way, an example that we should follow. His loving kindness was towards all people – there were none that He did not welcome and love. He was fully obedient to God’s will and way, even unto torture and death. He is the foundation stone of God’s Temple, standing forever sure! He calls us to be building blocks in the Temple of God. Can we be faithful and honourable and as steadfast as our Lord? May it be so!

Saturday 23 rd June           John 3 : 12 - 18

The Son of Man! Jesus must be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in Him may not die but have Eternal Life. Jesus was placed on the Cross on the top of a hill, so that all could see. What was meant for harm became the symbol of good for everyman. Jesus, Son of God was placed high – so that all who passed by could see. What man intended for harm became the greatest symbol for hope for all mankind who believe in Jesus as God’s beloved Son. God loved us so much that He gave His only Son so that everyone who believes in Him may not die but have eternal life. Jesus’ death was not in vain. He has risen and is even now sitting at the right side of God Almighty in Heaven. He waits for His faithful followers to join Him in Eternity. Give thanks to God Almighty and His Son, our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!

Sunday 24 th June

Lord God Almighty, we come to praise You and linger in Your presence, longing for Your touch upon our lives, and Your word of help and guidance for us this day. There is none like You, O Lord, and we bring our hearts of worship before You now, so that we can raise You high so that all of creation can see Your glory and worship You. There is no other who is as great as You, Lord God, and our hearts are full of love for You and thankfulness for caring for us so greatly. Day by day we grow more deeply in love with You, knowing that You watch over us with such loving kindness and guide us in all our living. May our feet be on the path You lay out before us, and may we step out gladly in Your service, telling others of Your great love and care for all of Your Creation. Blessed God—Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit, we worship and praise You now, and raise Your Name high before others. May we serve as You decree, bringing honour to Your name at all times. We praise You, dear Lord, and thank You for guiding and caring for us each day. Thank You – praise You – bless You. Hallelieuia!

The Practice of the Presence of God

Lawrence urges us to “make a private chapel of our heart where we can retire from time to time to commune with Him, peacefully, humbly, lovingly.” He encourages us to make inward prayer the last act of the evening and the first act of the morning and in doing so discover that “those who have been breathed upon by the Holy Spirit move forward even while sleeping.”

There is a way of ordering our mental life on more than one level at once. On one level we may be thinking, discussing, seeing, calculating, and meeting all the demands of external affairs. But deep within, behind the scenes at a profounder level, we may also be in prayer and adoration, son and worship and a gentle receptiveness to divine breathings.
