I Can Only Imagine (song written by Brat Millard); Millard found comfort in the thought and began to write it on anything he could find. Once Millard started writing the song, he estimated that it took him only about ten minutes to write the lyrics.

Linger on the words and let your imagination take over:

I can only imagine

I can only imagine what it will be like
When I walk, by Your side
I can only imagine what my eyes will see
When Your face is before me
I can only imagine
I can only imagine

Surrounded by Your glory
What will my heart feel
Will I dance for You Jesus
Or in awe of You be still
Will I stand in Your presence
Or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah
Will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine
I can only imagine

I can only imagine when that day comes
When I find myself standing in the Son
I can only imagine when all I would do is forever
Forever worship You
I can only imagine
I can only imagine

At the Men’s Conference I attended on Saturday the worship team sang the song ‘I can only Imagine’ with such passion that the words resonated within me. Could I imagine? I tried, with arms outstretched I tried, and yes, at that moment I could imagine. Now sitting at home I’m battling to put into words what I felt during that song. Do you also battle to express that feeling in words?

While now all I’m able to do is imagine what it will be like to be in the living presence of Jesus I live in the hope that by God’s grace one day I will be singing with the Angels in heaven, will walk by Jesus side and see the love in His eyes.  Can you imagine being surrounded by His glory? Can you imagine dancing for Jesus or will we just stand in awe in His presence unable to speak? Will we fall to our knees? Can you imagine?

Let’s pray: Thank You God for the power of imagination. Thank You God that our imagination, as expressed so vividly in the words of the song, becomes a reality because we believe in the risen Christ, and because You live we can face tomorrow in the promise that You have gone before us to prepare a place for us because You want us to be where You are. I can only imagine. In Jesus name we pray.  Amen

God Bless and take care ~ Colin & Lyn
