DAY IN THE LIFE OF A GAME RANGER By Chad Cocking

6 APRIL 2018 - A week of skies and landscapes

This week Luke has focused on capturing an incredible variation of skies and sunsets over the past couple of evenings. These photographs showcase the moodiness of nature and yet, at the same time, allow us to embrace all the beauty that she holds.

In Luke's words, ''The Timbavati, which is part of the Greater Kruger Park, is a really inspiring place to work and live. I can only imagine that the awe and wonder that I experience for my surrounding environment is similar to how our Tanda Tula guests feel when they visit.”

Sunsets in Africa are always impressive natural displays to view with the naked eye, but far harder to capture on camera. It takes a lot of practice, a good understanding of your equipment and sometimes pure luck to get a really great sunset shot. The recent storms have helped add to the collection of dramatic skies with large plumes of cloud and stirred up dust particles, all contributing to creating highly impressive and memorable red skies.
